CEREC® in Issaquah, WA

Issaquah Dental Arts is your Issaquah CEREC dentist for single-visit tooth restorations. Why go to the dentist a second time if you don't have to?

What is CEREC?

A CEREC restoration is a permanent crown fabricated in-office on the same day of your procedure. It is used to fix teeth that have had large fillings in need of replacement due to recurrent decay, teeth that may have fractures in them, molars and premolars treated with root canal therapy, and for cosmetic restorations.

A CEREC crown is better than a traditional crown for many reasons! The first being the crown margins are more accurate because we use a three-dimensional digital scanner to scan the preparation and design the crown chairside. We are able to recreate characteristics of surrounding teeth in order to help the crown blend in with your natural teeth. There is no impression or temporary crown involved, and you leave with the permanent restoration in one appointment.

CEREC Treatment

Getting a CEREC crown is very similar to a traditional crown preparation appointment. We administer anesthetic, remove any unhealthy tooth structure, place a build-up if necessary, and prepare the tooth into an ideal shape for the crown. Then, we scan the preparation with our three-dimensional camera that generates a model on the computer. With that model, we are able to customize the margins and design the crown. It really only takes about 40 minutes to prepare the tooth; the rest of the appointment you get to relax while we fabricate the crown!

Caring for your CEREC Restoration

Care for a CEREC restoration like you would care for any other tooth: be sure to keep the margins clean and free of debris by brushing and flossing daily. Regular visits with your hygienist at Issaquah Dental Arts will also help ensure the margins of your restoration are clear of any plaque or calculus.

Why choose Issaquah Dental Arts for your CEREC treatment?

In our Issaquah dental office, we cater to our patients comfort and try to get the work done as quickly and efficiently as possible. We've implemented the use of Isodry, a suction device with a mouth rest that allows us to work more quickly and prevent the patient from swallowing any pieces of tooth or filling material while we prepare the tooth for the crown. We offer warm blankets, headphones for ceiling mounted televisions, and a warm towel when we're finished with the procedure for your face or hands. Our dental assistants also custom stain the crowns when there is a shade variation present on surrounding natural teeth so your crown is as natural looking as possible.

In addition to our focus on patient comfort and satisfaction, Drs. Merkel and Hansen stay up to date with the latest advancements in CEREC technology, including yearly evaluation and weekly maintenance of our equipment and processes. We participate in continuing education training to ensure we are giving you the most ideal result.
